Croydon was chosen as one of the ‘Development and Demonstration’ areas to develop innovative voluntary and community sector involvement in Integrated Offender Management arrangements.
Funded through Clinks * CVA along with colleagues from probation, the police, the local authority and the voluntary sector developed a multi-stranded piece of work that – between November 2010 and March 2011:
• Appointed a Court-based Womens Worker
• Mapped Voluntary Community Organisations (VCO's) providing services to offenders
• Ran two mentoring training programmes
• Convened a conference with Safer Croydon Partnership to launch network of VCOs providing services to offenders
• Administered small grants programme
