 Your Community Rights

Do you wish to:

  • Run a local service
  • Shape local development or
  • Take over a community building?

Two new community rights came into force in April 2012 and two more will be coming in May and July 2012. These rights are intended to give local people more local power and control and are introduced in the Localism Act as part of the ‘Big Society’ agenda.  Find out more

CVA has been working with Urban Forum, Planning Aid, Locality and NAVCA to bring the best guidance to local people and groups and in January held a ‘Community Rights Made Real’ seminar as part of our People Power Programme.  We are keen to help people wishing to use these new rights and plan to offer more support through future Croydon People Power events.
