Talk2Croydon is an innovation in electronic democracy, launched in 2007, to improve practice and co-ordination of community involvement across Croydon as well as providing an additional tool for grassroots public engagement in local decision making.
This web tool brings together electronic public engagement for all of Croydon’s agencies, developed and led by Croydon Voluntary Action, in partnership with the Croydon Community Network, Croydon Council, Croydon NHS and Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust.
Talk2Croydon ensures those organising engagement activities and those wanting to participate can do so, easily and quickly, reaching Croydon’s communities. You might want to set up a Buzz or Structure, both offering lots of involvement options.
A Buzz is a one-off, time-limited activity focusing on a particular issue e.g. consultations on a service change or a campaign to save the libraries.
A Structure is an ongoing activity covering a range of issues over time and tangible e.g. local networks, forums, groups and partnerships.
For each you can set up simple polls, detailed surveys, discussion forums, events, documents, videos and links to other sites. This information is available to all but to get really involved, you need to register with Talk2Croydon.
