Croydon Council's Revised Statement of Community Involvement

Croydon is consulting on proposed revisions to the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). The SCI sets out how the Council will engage with local and statutory stakeholders in the process of planning for the local authority area, both in preparing planning documents and in carrying out development management functions.

It is necessary for Croydon to revise the SCI in order to reflect changes to the national planning system in England and to ensure that work on Croydon’s Local Development Framework and the Council’s development management functions remain efficient, meet the Government’s and Councils’ objectives for community involvement in planning. A more flexible, nimble, future proofed SCI can help achieve these aims and we’d like to get your views on the proposed amendments.

If you want to take part you can either: email Local Framework; write to Spatial Planning Service, 18th Floor, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon CR9 1JT; or go to the website.

You have until 26th March.

Copies of the revised Statement of Community Involvement can be viewed at the borough’s libraries and Access Croydon (Taberner House) between normal opening hours.

Consultation on Croydon Council's Housing Waiting List Rules

The council is consulting on changes to Croydon's housing waiting list rules, known as the allocation scheme.

People on our current housing waiting list outnumber available properties by almost ten to one.  Many of these people will never get an offer of a council or housing association tenancy - no matter how long they remain on the waiting list. Because of that we are proposing changes to the waiting list to ensure that those with the most urgent needs and who will benefit most from a council or housing association tenancy get priority.

Please let us know your views by completing our survey:

Consultation on the housing waiting list

This consultation will close on 27 February 2012.

Croydon Council's Transport Consultation for the OP Partnership Group

The Council wishes to develop its transport policy on helping people to get around Croydon and to other places outside the borough.   In order to get the best from its resources they need your views on how possible changes to the Councils current transport arrangements might affect you and your family.  Your views are very important to the Council as they enable them to make decisions now and in the future.  There are different ways you will be able to contribute your views, including a consultation questionnaire and event.  They are planning three public consultation events towards the end of February 2012 and dates/venues will be available shortly.  There will be one in the north, centre and south of the borough rather than concentrate on the town centre.  You can download some information below.  Please note that all questionnaires need to be returned to Adriana Costantino by Sunday 4th March 2012.  Adriana's contact details are:
