CVA Accreditation and Internal Verification Service

The costs of setting up accredited training are high and time consuming. The benefits are immense with nationally recognised qualifications and quality assurance.

CVA carries a full Accreditation, QA and Internal Verification service for organisations wishing to train. CVA is an Approved Centre with NOCN, ASDAN, C&G and the ILM and can help you set up as a satellite centre. CVA can also help provide training premises and help with marketing and course admin.
Any organisation  wishing to take forward accredited training should email: training@cvalive.org.uk .

Do you provide Advice in Croydon?

CVA, in partnership with Croydon Advice Providers Together (CAPT), are running workshops on the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) the only sector-owned, independently audited standard that focuses on advice. We have up to 15 bursaries available to cover most of the cost of this Quality Mark fees plus one to one support from our capacity building officer. So if you considering getting a quality mark, there is no better time!

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

AQS has been developed specifically to assure the quality of the service you provide, ensuring that staff have relevant and up to date knowledge and that quality of advice remains high. Obtaining the standard demonstrates to clients, funding providers and other agencies, effectiveness and quality of the service you provide. The standard covers:
•Effective access to your services
•How your client's needs are met
•How people giving advice are supervised and supported
•How your team keep their knowledge up to date
•How you ensure that your people are giving the right advice

This morning workshops will be a highly informative opportunity for participants to learn about the standard, how the assessment and awarding process works and whether the standard is right for your organisation. Followed by an opportunity for 1:1 surgeries with each Advice Centre to discuss their own specific situation.

DATE/PLACE/TIME

30 October 2014 at CVA's Resource Centre, 11.00am - 1.00pm.

 Jump into the Learning Pool

Learning Pool is the country’s largest on-line training community and is used by a majority of local authorities.
Ordinarily, the cost of accessing the Learning Pool would be beyond the budgets of most small to medium sized VCF sector organisations, however as Croydon Voluntary Action works in partnership with 5 others in the South London CVS Partnership it enables us collectively to offer these courses at £8.99 each thus creating opportunities that until now weren't available.

There are two courses which are ideal for giving Learning Pool a go:

Keeping the Plates Spinning (10 minute time-management refresher) and
The Importance of a Healthy Workstation (how to keep repetitive strain and eye sight injuries at bay).

The latest addition is Working from Home / Outside the Office – which will help you consider all the factors, whether this is something you’re planning to do or you manage people who work in this way.
