About The Big Lunch
The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.  Two million people took part in it this year.

Next year it falls on the same weekend as The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations on Sunday 3rd June 2012.  To mark this Croydon Council is encouraging everyone to get involved by holding community Big Jubilee Lunches in your street or local parks. With the aim of making it really simple to apply to hold a party, the council will even cover the costs of closing your road and will provide you with road closure signs – saving your street more than £1,000.  Read more
