From Womb to Tomb - a report on Child Poverty

The Institute for Fiscal Studies published a report on 11th October 2011, saying  that both absolute and relative child poverty levels are set to rise by hundreds of thousands of children under the current government’s current plans.  Research also by the Jospeh Rowntree Foundation suggest that Britain’s exceptionally high levels of child poverty costs us £25 billion a year, therefore undermining economic sustainability. £17 billion of this is a cost to the Exchequer. Child Poverty is one of the 3 deep dive topics in this year Croydon Joint Strategic Needs Assessment; consortia of professional organisations have presented a briefing paper on this topic ‘FROM WOMB TO TOMB’ – the case for investing in interventions to reduce the impact of CHILD POVERTY. Communities are welcome to have a read and comment and post comments on talk2Croydon.

Frustration and disappointment often accompany a grant application refusal.  Cass Business School has released a guide - The Art of Refusal -which aims to outline best practice for rejections and ensure that even refusals offer value to grantseekers.  Grantmakers may find it useful too.  Download from below:
