Thinking of Volunteering?

If you live in Croydon, this page has all the information you might need to help you make that decision.

How to find a volunteering opportunity:

You can search and apply for hundreds of volunteering opportunities in Croydon on the Do-It website. Do-it is the national volunteering database to which we upload new Croydon-based volunteering opportunities every week so if you don’t find something that interests you on your first search, please look again next week!

Another way to volunteer is to register your skills on our Volunteer Bank website which enables direct communication between those who want to help and those who need it.  Professionals can use it to offer expertise and industry knowledge to groups seeking specialised services.  We will acknowledge your registration and place you on our database, contacting you to confirm volunteering opportunities when they become available.

With so many different volunteering opportunities to choose from, you might feel you need help in deciding what to do. Call the Volunteer Centre Croydon to make an appointment to talk with our volunteer advisers on 020 8253 7070.

 Important notice about interviews

Before committing to any volunteering opportunity you can research the organisation or arrange a visit to see if it is the right place for you. If you do take the chance to visit the group, please do your best to attend the booked interview. Organisations frequently tell us that they arrange interviews for people who then fail to turn up. If you can’t make an interview, please let the organisation know as soon as you can as they often invest valuable time and resources in arranging interviews.

 who should join

Anyone interested in volunteering can join us.  Either contact us 020 8253 7070,  email or go directly to www.do-it.org.uk.

We support anyone interested in volunteering in Croydon as well as voluntary organisations and community groups wanting to involve volunteers.

 Why bother?

Volunteering changes lives and transforms communities. We want to make becoming a volunteer as easy as possible for everyone, no matter who they are, what their background or where they come from so that 1000s of people volunteer in Croydon every year.
