Gamechanger is a partnership project led by CVA, with Croydon Council, London Sport and Crystal Palace Football Club Foundation, predominantly funded by Sport England.

This initiative brings together numerous local sports organisations to raise the profile of sport in the borough and make a variety of sports activities more accessible to young people aged between 14-25 years old - from fitness classes to basketball, cricket to tennis, boxing to martial arts. To find out what sessions are currently available go to the website and click on calendar www.mygamechanger.co.uk/calendar

So far, we have delivered to over 1,372 participants, 75% of which are from BAME communities. On entry, 50% were doing less than 1 hour of exercise a week which reduced to 26% on exit from the programme, with a 75% increase in those doing over an hour of activity. We also encourage young people to act as Peer Mentors, undertaking volunteering and leadership opportunities and taking coaching qualifications if desired.

Game Changer is currently in the third and final year of the programme but is still keen to increase its network of partners and seek new funding opportunities so that the programme can continue to offer free sports activities for young people.
