Learning outcomes:

• To provide a framework for managing complex risk and using professional judgement to work out how worried professionals need to be about the child
• To develop an opportunity for reflecting within a ‘critical mindset’
• To develop tools to assist reflection and thinking, leading the assessor to a decision that makes sense to the analysis of the child’s or young person’s needs and situation
• To consider how to create professionals forums where the whole picture for the child can be considered
• To use professional meeting to not only be information sharing and then planning but analytical meetings where the analysis informs the plan – working it out as a team
