The Mayor of London has launched the above draft consultation and would love to hear from individuals and organisations with evidence, ideas and expertise to help shape plans in this area. After this consultation, they will develop and publish the Mayor's Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.

The Mayor has a leadership role to shape and respond to changes in London and now, more that ever, needs to build strong, thriving and connected communities. As our population is becoming more diverse, London is becoming more unequal in terms of income, employment and quality of life. London can only prosper if our diversity goes hand-in-hand with an inclusive approach that ensures every Londoner - irrespective of their age, disability, gender, gender identity, marital status, race, religion, sexual orientation or social class, or whether they are a carer, are pregnant or on maternity leave - gets to share in the prosperity generated by our incredible city. Our Vision deliberately goes beyond legal compliance to consider some wider priorities that help everyone to contribute, regardless of their background.
This vision includes suggested priority areas for action. These lists are no exhaustive. By consulting early, we will ensure that our strategy focuses on the right issues. Through consultation we will also build a stronger evidence base. This includes evidence of where people face multiple challenges, for example as a result of their gender and social class. This consultation will contribute to the development of the Mayor's Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.

You will find the Vision, an Easy Read version and full details of the consultation online. If you require this document in hard copy or a different format please email diversitystartegy@london.gov.uk or call 020 7983 4000.

Deadline for feedback is 11 September 2017.
