Susanette Mansour, Croydon Vision

"I am a community woman at heart with a passion and drive to promote social action, empowering and supporting individuals and organisations to inform and influence society. I am interested in representing the VCS on this board as I believe Children and families play a crucial role in contributing both to decisions that affect their own lives as well as their communities and wider society.

At Croydon Vision, an organisation that supports people with sight loss we work with children who are either totally blind or have severe sight loss and many have additional physical and or learning disabilities. Our aim is to create a society that is inclusive of blind and partially sighted people's interests and needs.

I have experience of working with children and families with complex needs and challenges - including domestic abuse, social issues, child poverty and mental health issues – ranging from intensive family support, conflict management and relationship support.

My aim is to bring in a fresh perspective to the board, to further create environments in which children can make a significant contribution to their own and others’ lives – building stronger families and communities."
