The New Routes Project is there to provide individuals Aftercare Support on the completion of accessing *Turning Point Services.

 

Our support volunteers offer assistance to individuals in their time of need. Support varies dependent on the clients needs and referral have in the past included:

New Routes

 

  • Assistance to attend appointments
  • Signposting/referring to local service
  • Support accessing groups and activities
  • Access to volunteering opportunities
  • Money management
  • Social activities
  • Training, education and employment
Not only will we provide support for individual to access service but we will offer on-going support during this time. Clients are also invited to come back to see us if they feel that they are in need of accessing the service once they have left.

*Turning Point operates the Croydon Recovery Network from locations across the borough. Croydon Recovery Network is your single drug and alcohol service for adults offering support to individuals across the borough.

 

Client Aftercare Support Volunteer (New Routes Project)

 

Your role will be to support clients referred to us from *Turning Point assisting them to access services in Croydon which can address their needs, thus helping them to overcome such barriers to healthier, more productive lives. This may be through raising awareness of the services offered by voluntary and community based organisation in the borough and beyond. It may also be by providing emotional support

Ideal for individuals interested in carrying out supportive roles, those with and interest in the rehabilitation of individuals with drugs and alcohol issues and those with an interest in community based services.

*Turning Point is the single drug and alcohol service for adults offering support to individuals across the borough.

 

Volunteers are required to:

  • Work with the client to support them to achieve their goals
  • Establish and maintain contact with the client throughout the relationship
  • Complete supporting documentation and end of support report for each client seen
  • Carry out signposting and referrals to appropriate agencies
  • Attend meeting with client (as and when under mutual agreement)
  • Undertake a DBS
