Good Governance for Trustees

Monday 19 October 2015
14:00 to 17:00

This is an opportunity to consider and review what are the key elements of a Trustee group which is providing good Governance to your organisation.

We will look at ways to develop and encourage good order in your organisation by having effective trustees doing roles and taking responsibilities which really help. The day will look at practical approaches to dealing with common issues. Depending upon the needs of those attending we will consider:

• The place of vision and mission for the Committee

• What is Governance

• The roles and responsibilities of the Management committee whether the organisation is a charity or another type of organisation.

• The roles of officers –Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary

• Managing meetings effectively

• Recruiting the right people for the committee

• Problems with relationships

• Developing the contribution of your members

Who should attend: The workshop is for those who are new members of a committee, have responsibility for leading a committee, would like the opportunity to refresh their understanding of good practise in this field.
