Free Advocacy Training on School Exclusions

Suitable for:
- Parents who want to gain the essential skills and knowledge to empower themselves and other parents that have children at risk of school exclusion or who have been excluded.
- Community members and practitioners who would like to develop their understanding of Advocacy and School Exclusions.
- Anyone who would be interested in becoming a CEN VOLUNTEER ADVOCATE for Communities Empowerment Network (CEN)and helping us meet the huge demand for our services
What will you get out of the workshop?
- Understand the parent’s and child’s perspective
- Understand the school environment and types of exclusion that schools enforce
- Identify when children are more likely to be at risk at of exclusion and the strategies to put in place to avoid Exclusion
- Increase your knowledge about the legal aspects of exclusion.
- Understand the importance of recording information and how to ask critical questions to prepare an effective case.
- Opportunity to become a CEN Volunteer Advocate or Empowerment Volunteer.
There is a huge demand for this training and due to limited funding they are only able to hold a few of these workshops each year.
